TWO NIGHTS ONLY, SAT JUNE 17 and SUN JUNE 18!

Join us for a staged showing of Girls in Trouble: A Feminist Mystery Play! Two years into the development of this show, we are so excited to share this work-in-progress with the public for two nights only, as we continue its journey of creation. This music-theater-memoir is directed by Nessa Norich (NYC) and features a live band, fantastic cast, set design by Cynthia Star, and animations by Zak Margolis!

This show expands Alicia Jo Rabins' indie-folk/art-pop song cycle about Biblical women into an interdisciplinary music-theater exploration - at once personal and mythic. Indie-folk, bluegrass, and a touch of klezmer combine with feminist Biblical scholarship and personal storytelling to investigate the seams where modern and ancient meet.

All are welcome to join this voyage through ancestral traditions, cultural transmission and feminist Jewish spirituality through a wide-ranging lens including stories of women from the Torah; personal narrative; and visual illustrations of myth and monsters, from Old Masters to comic books. Come join us in asking the question: how can we speak to our spiritual, cultural and familial ancestors? And how can listening to their stories help us understand our own?
